First Kiss

III

I was nineteen years old and had never been kissed. I had gone on a couple "dates" with this girl when one day I asked her back to my room to watch a movie. After the movie we were sitting on the couch listening to music and talking. Then the song "The Freshmen" by The Verve came on. Then the lyrics "I can't be held responsible/ 'Cause she was touching her face/ I won't be held responsible/She fell in love in the first place" And right at that moment she brushed her hair off her face. I knew that was her telling me to kiss her, so I did. It was magical. After, I told her that I kissed her cause she asked me to. She replied "I didn't say anything." I said but you touched your face when the song said to. She swears she didn't. It must have been subconscious. After the first kiss was out of the way we kissed a couple times that night. Then I walked her down to her car and kissed her good night. That was the last time I ever kissed her. She moved on to another school and another town. I some times still talk to her, but it is not the same between us. However, I will always remember that first kiss.
